NOVEMBER 9, SUNDAY, 10:00-11:00 am

Objective: Overwinter!

Leader: Ron Aakjar

Location: Sharon Audubon Center

Ages: Adults & Kids!

As the days of autumn come closer to an end, we continue to prepare ourselves for the onslaught of winter, but did you ever wonder how different plants and animals have adapted to survive the winter?   Join Naturalist Ron Aakjar on a walk over the Audubon grounds, looking for things such as butterfly/moth eggs, caterpillars and adult insects, spider egg cases, praying mantis egg cases, insect galls, different kinds of organisms under logs, mushrooms and whatever else he can find to see how they have adapted to surviving the harsh winter.  This walk will be held rain or shine so be sure to dress for the weather and trail conditions.  Sturdy hiking boots or walking shoes are recommended.   Hot chocolate and dessert “goodies” will be available inside the Center building afterward.  Pre-registration for this event is not required.
