Meet our Resident Red-shouldered Hawk

 

Koda

 

Brought to Sharon Audubon Center: October 15, 2007

Sex: Female

Injury:  Unable to sustain flight

History: Koda, whosse name means "Friend" in Dakota Sioux, was admitted into the Center's Wildlife Rehabilitation program. Koda was found on the ground in a wooded area near a rifle club, unable to fly.  Upon examination it became clear that Koda's injuries were sustained by gunshot, rendering the left wing permanently damaged.  Koda now resides at the Center and is in training to become an ambassador for her species.
